Cookie Policy
This Policy explains how FounderNotes uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and pixels.
2. Categories We Use
| Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, session, security, load balancing. | Session – 1 year |

| Performance / analytics | Measure traffic and usage so we can improve the Service. | Up to 2 years |
| Targeting | Not currently used. [Update if ad/retargeting pixels are added.] | — |
3. Third-Party Cookies
Stripe sets cookies on payment pages to prevent fraud. Our hosting provider may set strictly-necessary cookies for security. [Add third-party analytics or ad providers here if used.]
4. Identifiers We Set
For transparency, the specific browser-storage keys FounderNotes currently sets are:
| Key | Category | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| fn:consent:v1 | Strictly necessary | Records your cookie-banner choice so we don’t ask again on every visit. |
| fn_session_id | Analytics | Anonymous session identifier used to group product-usage events. Only set if you accept non-essential cookies. |
| fn_acq_source | Analytics | Stores the referral source (e.g. ?ref= or referring domain) so we can attribute sign-ups. Only set if you accept non-essential cookies. |
5. Managing & Withdrawing Consent
You can accept, reject, or change non-essential cookies at any time via our cookie banner or your browser settings. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled because the Service cannot function without them.
6. Consent Banner Language
We use cookies to run FounderNotes, remember your preferences, and understand how the product is used. You can accept all, reject non-essential, or manage your choices. Read our Cookie Policy.
